Chairman Lee Eog-weon of the Financial Services Commission attended the 9th accounting day commemoration event held on October 30 and conferred awards to those who have made contributions to the improvement of accounting transparency in Korea. In his speech, Chairman Lee spoke about the importance of ensuring transparency and reliability in accounting practices since the accounting industry constitutes a key pillar for driving the economic competitiveness of the country. In this regard, Chairman Lee said that financial authorities will continue to work on various measures to boost the quality of accounting and audit practices while dealing with accounting frauds through strict sanctions.
