Chairman Lee Eog-weon of the Financial Services Commission presided over the seventh meeting on propelling a transition to inclusive finance with officials from related organizations and private sector experts on October 28. At today's meeting, officials discussed plans to introduce a comprehensive evaluation system on inclusive finance for financial companies and ways to bolster the management of non-performing loans by public financial institutions. Speaking about a significant step forward achieved in the course of one year, Chairman Lee said that the personal debtor protection and delinquent debt management mechanisms have made a structural transition in the past year, moving away from the debt collection approach of the past toward a more debtor-friendly and recovery-oriented model. In this regard, Chairman Lee said that this is a continuous effort to redesign the paradigm of the financial industry to strengthen inclusive finance, which requires concerted efforts and cooperation from all financial sectors and public financial institutions.
