FSC Chairman Lee Eog-weon met with Abylkassymova Madina Yerassylovna, Chair of Kazakhstan’s Agency of Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM), on September 16 to discuss ways to strengthen financial cooperation between the two countries. 

Later that day, a financial cooperation seminar was held under the theme “Opening a New Chapter in Financial Cooperation for Stability and Growth,” attended by around 60 officials from the financial authorities and relevant institutions of both countries.

At the seminar, the ARDFM presented an overview of financial regulatory developments, particularly in the banking sector, and its development strategy for the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). The FSC shared its experience in strengthening the resilience of the banking sector and financial system, resolving non-performing loans (NPLs), and building capital market infrastructure.

Both sides agreed to strengthen policy dialogue and continue to deepen financial cooperation between the two countries.
