Vice Chairman Kwon Dae-young of the Financial Services Commission presided over the second joint meeting on anti-voice phishing measures held with officials from related agencies and major financial institutions on August 20. At today's meeting, Vice Chairman Kwon discussed the significance of the AI-based anti-phishing Sharing and Analysis Platform (ASAP) launched last year as it has helped to prevent potential scams estimated at about KRW66.36 billion between October 2025 and July 2026. More importantly, however, Vice Chairman Kwon emphasized that the platform has enabled the financial and telecommunications sectors and investigation authorities to more closely and systematically work together without the regulatory barriers or obstacles that existed before. In this regard, Vice Chairman Kwon said that the government will continue to work to ensure the maintenance of close cooperation and coordination among related organizations to stamp out and prevent damages from vishing scams and other types of financial frauds.
