Chairman Lee Eog-weon of the Financial Services Commission held a public conference on housing finance to seek opinions and suggestions on ways to improve the government's housing finance measures on July 15. The public conference was also broadcast live online to encourage participation from ordinary citizens. In his opening remarks, Chairman Lee spoke about the importance of continuing to stably manage the size of household debt, while ensuring a steady provision of housing ladder for young adults and non-speculative homebuyers. In this regard, Chairman Lee asked participants to actively make suggestions and raise ideas on what the financial sector can do to better respond to housing demand and assist the supply of housing.
