Vice Chairman Kwon Dae-young of the Financial Services Commission presided over a meeting on the e-claim system for private indemnity health insurance with officials from related ministries and industry groups on May 11. At the meeting, Vice Chairman Kwon spoke about the significance of introducing the e-claim system as it has helped to boost the convenience of consumers in the private health insurance claims process. However, since certain EMR (electronic medical record) companies have yet to join the e-claim system, Vice Chairman Kwon said that authorities will continue to work with those EMR companies to encourage their participation and make the e-claim system available from more health care service providers.
